Dr. D. O’Mahony

March 19th, 2008

Yesterday I felt sick again in the evening, and we made an apoint ment with dr. mahony in PSJ.
After a through examine he said I just pick up one of the flews around the area. Advice, stay in bed with a bottle of brandy and take some parasetamol.
The advice I always get from Rob Becker, now I heard it from a real proffesional 🙂
This morning was much better although I had fever at night and was sweating like a pig. And I ate food again, lost some weight though(not for long).

Feeling much better

March 18th, 2008

Well my Sunday night fever was a tough one.
I was shaking like a Parkinson person for over an hour in bed and was incredibly warm.
Now it’s Thursday the crew is back from Uganda, Catrien is back from Holland and on top of that the sun is shining after a week of cold and heavy rain. I’m in the office right now  answering my mails I feel better.
Tomorrow Richard Claus is coming back from Uganda and then serious work have to be done.A Guy in Lesoto

On vacation in South Africa

March 14th, 2008

Anet and I went on this 4 day trip.
Our first goal was to go to Underberg a 4 hour drive from PSJ.
We arrived and the weather was very nice, but later that day all hell broke lose, a thunderstorm we had never seen before. Next morning we drove with our guide Mondli (means: caring for) a Zulu who new everything about the area.
The pass is located at more than 2800 meters and we had lunch and drinks at the highest pub in SA. That evening we drove in the direction of Howick to see the falls. We stayed at the Granny Mouse resort which won awards for there food and wine (a wine cellar with more than 4000 wines). Next day we hit Durban a shitty dangerous city.
All we new was; don’t go there and don’t do that etc. Well we ended up in a huge mall watching Imax ” the mummy’s secret” eating sushi and so on. At night we had dinner at a Thai which guards on the streets and a cage for the door do they can control who goes in and out. Weird shit not a happy place to be.
Next morning we woke up and  wanted to see a little mall where I saw some nice shoes. We ended up shopping like crazies, that was fun and went home (PSJ).
O, lunch at Port Edward was nice but better was our warm welcome home by Thea and the dogs. at the Sani Pass in Lesoto

Wherever we go the dogs follow us on this photo Voodoo is waiting for Thea to come back all the way from capetown.
Tonight we are having a Braai (grill).Me and VooDoo

I’m very curious what her reaction will be if she see’s where I stay and work.

Millenium Bar

March 1st, 2008

Yesterday we stopped at the Millenium bar, it has a great view.
They sell ice cold bottles of beer 750cl for 10 rand (les than a euro). After that we went out eating at the Fish eagle run by a very small German guy.I had the callimari steak wich was great, Catrien had a very dry dorade.
To top it off we went to the Jungle Monkey, hippy shit, stoned out of there head people arround a campfire, not my ideal place.I learned that Port St. Johns is the hippy capital of the world.
Forget Amsterdam and San Francisco, PSJ and dagga as they call it here is famous all over the world, it grows as fast as grass here and coast notting.Well that was the info for all you podheads, no it is not for sale at Fir’s fruitshop. 🙂

O, I almost forgot Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear DI, Happy birthday to you.XXXXXXXX    Millenium bar
